DRAFT

AVERY MAHARAJA                                           IMPERIAL IPA

Avery Brewing Co.                                   Boulder, CO

Much like its namesake, this imperial IPA is regal, intense and mighty. With hops and malts as his servants, he rules both with a heavy hand. The Maharaja flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops: tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley - fashioning a dark amber hue and an exquisite malt essence.  The taste begins with a big kick of grapefruity hops, some honey-like sweetness creeps in, then it ends up on the floor after the citrusy and piney hop flavors come back for another round of beating. There are some tropical fruit flavors there as well. ABV - 9.8%

AVERY IPA CASK                                                IPA

Avery Brewing Co.                                   Boulder, CO

This IPA has a citrus hop aroma with a hazy burnt orange color and a white head that lasts. This outstanding brew offers a smooth, thick, oily, and soft feel on the mouth with hops abundant all the way to the end.  The finish however differs from the regular Avery IPA in that it doesn't linger as long.  This unfiltered, unpasteurized beer is drawn by hand through a cask engine and is traditionally served slightly warmer than a keg beer.

DOGFISH HEAD 60 MINUTE IPA                       INDIA PALE ALE

Dogfish Head Brewery                              Milton, DE

Intoxicating aroma of citrus and hoppy florals. Tastes of grapefruit, citrus and caramel malts. Very well balanced much like it's older brother, the 90 minute, but much lighter in every way. 6% abv

BOTTLES

Boulevard Brewing Co.       Kansas City, KS                  Single Wide IPA      5.7%abv   serving: pint               $4.75

This latest installment of the Smokestack Series is a more approachable version of its Double-Wide cousin. Pale copper in color, this brew should have a noticeably creamy head. The hops are intense on the nose, but are balanced on the tongue with grapefruit and a hint of malt. The slightly bitter aftertaste begs another sip.
